Deira

Deira, located in the eastern part of Dubai, is the oldest commercial district in the city. It has played a significant role in Dubai's trade industry and continues to be a trading hub for spices, textiles, and jewelry delivery to Asia and Africa. Despite the shift of cargo operations to Jebel Ali Port in 2018, Deira remains in high demand due to its developed infrastructure and proximity to important government buildings, courts, and embassies.

Not only is Deira an important business district, but it is also a popular tourist destination.

Many tourists come here to visit the markets and explore the wide range of spices, perfumes, and food available, including fresh fish and vegetables. The Gold Souk in Deira is particularly well-known for its extensive selection of jewelry, all of which is regulated by the UAE government to ensure quality.

Thanks to its convenient location, with easy access to Dubai Downtown via Sheikh Zayed Road, Deira is well-connected to key areas of Dubai. Dubai International Airport (DXB) is just a 10-minute drive away, while Palm Jumeirah and Dubai Marina can be reached in about 30 minutes.

Living in Deira also offers convenient public transport options. The area is served by 7 stations on the Red Line and 3 stations on the Green Line of the Dubai Metro. The busiest stations in Deira include Al Rigga, Union, and Deira City Centre. Buses 27, 88, and X28 also provide transportation to Dubai Downtown.

For shopping enthusiasts, Deira City Centre and Al Ghurair Centre are considered the best shopping centers in the district. In terms of dining options, Aseelah, Bateaux, Gordon Ramsay’s Table 9, Max’s Restaurant, Denny’s, Miyako, and Yakitate are among the most popular restaurants in Deira, offering a diverse range of Middle Eastern and international cuisines.

The economic appeal of Deira can be attributed to various factors.

As a Dubai commercial center, Deira houses numerous offices, shops, and other real estate units, attracting tourists. The Deira Enrichment Project has led to the development of new buildings, increasing opportunities for foreign investors. Additionally, the ongoing construction of the Deira Islands project by Nakheel, connecting four man-made islands to Deira via a bridge, will provide freehold units on the new territory.

Furthermore, Deira offers real estate properties that allow for a 3-year residential Dubai visa.
