Ras Al Khor Wildlife SanctuaryRas Al Khor Wildlife Sanctuary is one of the few urban protected areas in the world. Spanning an area of 6.2 square kilometers, the sanctuary is home to approximately 266 species of fauna and 47 species of flora. The presence of diverse ecosystems — including mangroves, mudflats, lagoons, sabkhas, reed beds, and shrublands — significantly contributes to its rich biodiversity. Among the varied plant and animal life found here, the greater flamingo, set against the backdrop of lush green mangroves, is one of the most visible and captivating natural features of Ras Al Khor.Bird hides have been installed to allow visitors to observe the plants, animals, and habitats up close.
