As of 2015, around AED 202B was invested in the development of Dubailand. But even with such impressive funding, the execution of a number of projects, such as Pharaohs Theme Park or Six Water Parks had to be abandoned, as well as other developments, such as Legoland and DreamWorks Studio Theme Park which were moved to other areas.

No metro stations have been constructed in the vicinity of the district yet, but there is bus No. 30, which can be used to get to The Dubai Mall, Liwan Entrance, Dubai Sky Courts, Academic City and Nad Al Sheba Road. One can also take a taxi, which is one of the easiest and most popular ways of traveling around the city, with the most common taxi services in the area being Uber and Careem.

Despite the Dubailand development occupying a significant area and is aimed at families with children, there are not as many kindergartens as you might expect. Residents can take their children to nursery at Chubby Cheeks in Skycourts Tower C or to Kids Zone Nursery in The Villa Community, and residents of Waha and Layan can apply to Step by Step Nursery. More kindergarten options are presented in the nearby Dubai Silicon Oasis.
